Polio was once the most dreaded childhood disease, causing widespread paralysis and death before the introduction of vaccines in the mid-20th century. The oral polio vaccine (Sabin) works wonders by providing simple, powerful protection-cutting polio cases worldwide by over 99% and saving hundreds of thousands from paralysis Rotary international as a leader and founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, has mobilized support and helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children, nearly eliminating polio from every country except two. Let us not forget.
