President Greg Worden welcomed all to the February 4th meeting of the Brattleboro Rotary Club held at the American Legion in Brattleboro. Phil George offered a meaningful invocation. This was followed by the pledge of allegiance.Birthday greetings were extended to Jeremy Coleman and Ron Stahley.
As a luncheon of salad, chicken with mushrooms, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, broccoli and salted caramel ice cream for dessert was being digested, the meeting continued. .

For our Rotary joke, Marty Cohn told a version of the following:
At a hotel restaurant, a man sees an attractive woman sitting alone at the next table. Suddenly, she sneezes, and a glass eye comes flying out of her eye socket. It hurls by the man, and he snatches it from the air and hands it back to her. "This is so embarrassing," the woman says, and she pops her eye back in place. "I'm sorry to have disturbed you. Let me buy dinner to make it up to you. May I join you?" He nods. The woman is a stimulating conversationalist, stunningly pretty, and the man finds they have a lot in common. He gets her phone number and asks, "You are the most charming woman I've ever encountered. Are you this nice to every guy you meet?" "No," she replies. "You just happened to catch my eye."
Milt Eaton then told a version of the following: Two guys are sitting at a bar. One guy says to the other, "Do you know that lions have sex 10 or 15 times a night?". The other guy says, "Damn, I just joined the Rotary Club."
This made Marty’s joke much funnier!

The first camera invented was made by Alexander Wolcott. His camera design was patented on May 8, 1840. His invention made it possible for candid photos to be taken and not fade away with time.
