WELCOME

President George Weir welcomed all to the November 9th meeting of the Brattleboro Rotary Club held at the American Legion in Brattleboro. Mara Williams offered a meaningful invocation reminding us to share our bounty with others.  This was followed by the pledge of allegiance. 
 
As a luncheon of pork in chutney sauce, mac & cheese, steamed broccoli, baked potatoes, green salad, bread, and apple crisp for dessert was being digested, the meeting continued.

For our Rotary minute, Irma Robertson reminded us that the number of Rotarians and clubs have increased in the last two years. Also, there have been many famous contributors to Rotarian Magazine.

  • The Putney Road Bottle/Can Redemption is holding a contest for most deposits by a non profits in November.  Winner get $0.065 per bottle / can.  Remember, all monies for Brattleboro Rotary Club go to Pure Water for the World.
  • Sign ups for Christmas Tree shifts have begun. See Jeff Hagstrom for more details.
  • Volunteers are needed to set up the Christmas Tree stands on 11/18 and to unload the Christmas Trees on 11/24. See Jeff Hagstrom for more details.
  • Christmas bird seed wreaths are available for $15.  See Jeff Hagstrom for more details.
  • Thanks to the generous donation of lunch at last week’s Road Show by McDonald’s, the club will be contributing $500 to the Rotary Foundation’s Hurricane Relief in Puerto Rico.
  • Sunnyside Solar is helping to bring solar generators to Puerto Rico. If you are interested in contributing, click here.
