ROTARY MINUTE
Bill presented a couple of theories on why the 'blue zones' of long life happen. One theory is that these blue zone areas all have children brought up to respect and honor the elderly. Children that carry that respect through their lives tend to average 7 years of longer life.
Note for future presenters; The Rotary Minute could also have the speaker talk about their personal involvement in Rotary or personal background.

Please bring your bottles and cans to the Putney Road redemption center to benefit APPN. Pure Water for the World is no longer operating in the USA; it continues in Honduras as APPN.
Maria Inestroza, the PWW country director for Honduras is continuing the work in that country under the name APPM, acronym for Agua Pura para El Mundo, or Pure Water for the World in Spanish Pure Water for the World. Please remember to inform the staff that the bottles and cans should be credited to the club.
Stan introduced Brett Morrison of the Ct. River Conservancy.
Brett gave a fascinating presentation on the history of the Connecticut River in our region, and the Conservancy’s goal to
Protect
Steward, and
Restore.
The next focus will be on enhancing public access opportunities, particularly behind the railroad station and the art museum.
On March 3rd the Brattleboro and Hinsdale Selectboards will meet to discuss this exciting new opportunity to bring people to the river side and enjoy our natural resource right behind our downtown.
